Dow completes its first green campus renovation at Las Pinas National Science High School

Team stands around recycled track

Dow Philippines has completed the renovation of Las Pinas City National Science High School’s sports facilities using its green technology for sustainable sports and education infrastructure. The project is a collaboration between Dow and the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) to improve students' safety and sports learning experience with environmentally friendly solutions.

Dow applied green technology as such FASTRACK™, high performance with low-VOC (volatile organic compounds) formulations road-marking resins, and VORAMER™, durable, solvent-free polyurethane rubber binders, to three areas of the school. 1. The pedestrian lanes outside the school, 2. School’s running track, 3. The multi-purpose playground. In total, the improved area is over 900 square meters.

"Not only do we improve school facilities, but we also want to show the students that science can create a greener and sustainable world. For example, VORAMER™ PU binders provide durability, safe and environment friendly surfaces while FASTRACK™ Technology used for lane marking is highly visible, long-lasting markings that can withstand punishing weather and traffic conditions while reducing volatile-organic compound emissions which toxicity to human.", said Mr.Bobby Batungbacal, Dow Philippines Country Manager.

“The Dow Green Campus program combines the different elements crucial to education intervention, which are STEM, sustainability and community partnership”. Elvin Uy, PBSP Executive Director.
